The way we communicate can either make people feel safe and welcome, or excluded and vulnerable. Language is incredibly powerful, and seemingly simple words can have a big impact on people.

In our Pronouns and Terminology sessions, we will discuss how language affects those around us, particularly members of the LGBTQ+ community. We will then explore how inclusive language and behaviours can enhance your professional practice, covering topics like the different types of pronouns and the importance of using them correctly, and the appropriate terms to use when referring to the LGBTQ+ community.

There are many myths, misconceptions and stereotypes about the LGBTQ+ community. Our mythbusting training sessions address these by covering a wide range of topics, including the different identities and experiences within the community, the reality of LGBTQ+ lives, and the impact of discrimination and marginalisation.

Through interactive activities and discussions, participants will learn how to challenge their own biases, and become more informed and effective allies in their personal and professional lives. It will help attendees to understand the facts and realities of the LGBTQ+ community and be able to correct misinformation and stereotypes in their own environment.

LGBTQ+ allyship is vital in creating a more inclusive society for all individuals. LGBTQ+ people still face discrimination and marginalisation in many areas of life, including in education, the workplace, housing, and healthcare.

Our LGBTQ+ allyship training is designed to help participants understand the experiences and challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community, and how to be an effective ally. The training covers a number of topics, including UK law, Welsh Government guidance, the impact of discrimination and marginalisation, and ways to support and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
