Pride Cymru is making Pride more accessible than ever for 2026 with the introduction of £5 Sunday tickets, creating even more opportunities for people to come together, celebrate, and experience the magic of Pride weekend.

Sunday at Pride Cymru has always had its own unique atmosphere. While Saturday brings the energy of the parade and headline performances, Sunday is all about community, connection, and celebrating the incredible local talent that makes Wales so special. Sunday offers a more laid-back vibe, giving people the chance to enjoy Pride at a slightly slower pace. It’s often less busy, making it a great option for families, younger visitors, people attending Pride for the first time, or anyone who prefers a more relaxed environment while still enjoying everything Pride has to offer.

By introducing £5 tickets for Sunday, Pride Cymru hopes to make the event more accessible for individuals, families, and communities who may previously have found attending difficult because of cost. At a time when many people are facing financial pressures, creating affordable opportunities to access safe and inclusive spaces feels more important than ever.

The new pricing also works alongside another major accessibility change for 2026: children and young people aged 15 and under will now go free across the weekend. Pride Cymru believes every young person deserves the chance to experience Pride, whether that’s attending for the first time, discovering a sense of belonging, or simply enjoying a day of celebration with family and friends.

Pride Cymru has always been about creating spaces where people can feel safe, seen, and celebrated. The introduction of £5 Sunday tickets is another step towards ensuring Pride remains open and accessible to as many people as possible.

Pride Cymru is a safe space for our community to celebrate diversity and equality, and we expect attendees of all of our events to embrace and respect this. Pride work with our event delivery partners during all stages of our planning, ensuring that the event is a safe experience for all. Violent, threatening, or offensive behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated whether it’s against staff, volunteers, parade participants, market stall holders, security personnel or members of the public.

How are you responding to the increased threat level?

Pride Cymru takes public safety extremely seriously, and we are working closely with our event safety partners, including security teams, emergency services, local authorities, and specialist advisors, to ensure the festival remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

In response to the increased security threat level, we are implementing enhanced safety measures across the site. These include increased security personnel, security dogs, bag searches, and wand searches at entry points.

To help us keep everyone safe, we strongly discourage attendees from bringing large bags wherever possible, as this may slow down entry into the event.

We understand these additional measures may mean slightly longer queues, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work together to protect our community and ensure a safe Pride for all.

How do I take part in the Parade?

Parade applications for groups, charities, community organisations and businesses are now open! You can apply here.

Why do you charge for market stalls? Who sets the prices?

We understand this concern and recognise that cost can be a barrier, particularly for small and LGBTQ+-led organisations. Pride Cymru is a large delivered event with significant costs. Stall fees contribute towards essential expenses such as event infrastructure, security, medical provision, stewarding, accessibility measures, staging, licensing, waste management, insurance, and year-round planning and administration. These costs apply regardless of the size of the organisation hiring a stall.

To ensure Pride Cymru remains rooted in the community, we offer free community stalls for LGBTQ+ charities, grassroots organisations, and non-profit community groups. These stalls must be applied for in advance, are limited in number, and are allocated based on eligibility and available space. https://pridecymru.com/get-involved/markets/

What time will market stalls be open?

Our market stalls are run by local groups and vendors, and they get to decide their own opening hours within our event hours. Many choose to open on the Saturday only, for limited hours, so they can manage stock and volunteers, while some may be open a little longer. This way, everyone can take part in a way that works best for them, and visitors still get a fun, lively market to explore!

Is there accessible parking available?

There is very limited parking available for Blue Badge holders. This is pre-bookable by adding a copy of your Blue Badge (both sides) and vehicle registration to the access form that is sent via email when you purchase your accessible ticket. The closing date for this is Friday 5th June 2026 at 6pm. The nearest pay and display parking is at the Civic Centre amongst others which can be found here.

Do you hire mobility scooters?

We have a limited number of off-road wheelchairs, and mobility scooters available to hire, free of charge. We kindly ask that attendees use them as needed and then return them when no longer needed so others can also benefit. Please note that numbers are limited, so if all scooters or wheelchairs are currently in use, we ask for your patience while waiting for one to be returned.

If you have your own mobility scooter or hired equipment, you are very welcome to bring it with you to the event. Charging points will be available at the Access Hub and viewing platform.

Help! I haven’t received my ticket. Where is it?

Your ticket will be emailed to you in the weeks leading up to the event. If you’re having trouble finding it, please check your spam folder. Your ticket will also be available via your Citizen Ticket account.

How do you make Pride more accessible for deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent people?

We want to make the event as accessible as possible to everybody and we offer all reasonable measures to assist with your attendance and enjoyment.

As the event takes place within a historic castle setting, some areas include cobbled paths, uneven surfaces, and terrain that may present challenges for some visitors. Where possible, alternative accessible routes will be provided, and volunteers will be available throughout the event to assist anyone who may need support on the day.

Accessibility tickets are available for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people that may require extra provisions in place to enjoy the event.

You may also request a free carer/companion/personal assistant ticket once you have purchased your accessibility ticket

We offer an access wristband system to people that purchase an accessible ticket, which allows unquestioned access to provisions including but not limited to:

Fast lane queue(s) with wider aisles for wheelchair and mobility scooters. You will receive your access wristband at this point.
- You will need to attend the Access Hub for your wristband if you purchase your ticket on the day.
A mobile changing-places unit will be available on both days. There will also be accessible portaloos throughout the site.
Ability to leave and return to the event with no extra cost.
A viewing platform for the main stage and viewing areas at other stages.

Please note that strobe and lighting effects will be in use along with smoke machines and video displays. Due to the nature of the event it will be busy and noisy.

Why do you have sponsors at Pride? Is this commercialisation of Pride?

Delivering a safe, accessible and joyful event for tens of thousands of people in the heart of Cardiff takes significant resources.

Sponsorship plays a vital role in making Pride Cymru possible. It helps us deliver the event to a high standard, invest in accessibility, safety and infrastructure, and keep ticket prices and customer costs as low as we can. Without that support, many elements, like the parade, family area and community stalls, simply wouldn’t happen at the scale and quality people expect and deserve.

We’re thoughtful and rigorous about who we partner with. We don’t work with arms manufacturers, companies with poor human rights or environmental records, or organisations whose values don’t align with equality and inclusion. Every sponsor is carefully reviewed to ensure they demonstrate meaningful, ongoing support for LGBTQ+ communities, not just during Pride season, but throughout the year.

We recognise that there are strong views on corporate sponsorship, and we respect that members of our community may hold different perspectives. Our responsibility is to assess each potential partner on their own policies, actions and track record, particularly their commitments to equality, inclusion and the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people here in Wales. We make informed decisions based on evidence, and we continue those conversations beyond the event itself.

When you see a logo at Pride, it’s there because that organisation has chosen to stand with us, not speak for us. Together, we’re working to make Pride Cymru safe, sustainable and spectacular for everyone.

You used an image of me for promotional purposes, can I have a free ticket?

Pride Cymru is a small charity, and unfortunately, we’re not able to offer free tickets in exchange for images being used in our promo. Our ticket income goes directly towards covering the costs of running a safe, accessible Pride for the community.

Photos and videos taken at Pride Cymru events may be used for promotional purposes, in line with our photography policy, which is in place to help us share and celebrate the event.

That said, if an image featuring you is ever used and you’re not comfortable with it, just let us know and we’ll stop using it straight away, no questions asked.

How can attendees share feedback or concerns?

We always welcome feedback and want to hear from you! The easiest way is through our website, where you can submit your thoughts or questions directly to our team. We ask that feedback is realistic, constructive, and respectful. This helps us understand the issue and make meaningful improvements for future events. Please remember that real people read this feedback, including volunteers giving up their time to support our community, so kindness goes a long way.

What does Pride Cymru do outside of the festival weekend?

Loads! Our work doesn’t stop when the music ends. Pride Cymru supports year-round projects promoting education, community visibility, and workplace inclusion across Wales. Attending Pride helps fund that ongoing mission.

We provide a safe, sober and central location for some really amazing grassroots groups to hold their meetings.

We’ve helped hundreds of people in Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire engage with sport in a LGBTQ+ inclusive environment.

I’ve seen negative comments about Pride online, why?

Pride means different things to different people, and when you’re delivering a large-scale event like Pride Cymru, there will always be a range of opinions.

Some comments relate to things like ticketing, sponsorship, programming choices, or how the event is run. We understand that people care deeply about Pride, and that passion can sometimes show up strongly online.

It’s also important to remember that Pride Cymru is delivered by volunteers who work hard year-round to create a safe, inclusive and joyful event for our community. Constructive feedback is always welcome, but abuse or harassment towards volunteers is not acceptable.

We’re proud to keep listening, learning and evolving, while staying focused on delivering Pride for our whole community.

How much do you pay for headline acts?

Getting the right headline talent is something you tell us really matters, and we hear you. We’ve had some brilliant suggestions over the years… but quite a few have been wayyyyy over budget. (We admire the ambition, though. Truly.)

Many of you say you’d love a mix of well-known acts and local legends, and that’s exactly what we aim for. In a community as diverse as ours, we know not everyone will agree on every booking. Our job is to balance representation across the LGBTQ+ community while keeping the programme affordable so ticket prices stay as low as possible.

We’re not allowed to publish specific fees paid to performers due to “commercial confidentiality” clauses in artist contracts; we could genuinely be sued if we shared that information.

It’s also worth saying that many of our headline acts perform for significantly less than they’d charge a profit-making festival because they want to support our community and understand we’re a charity. Publishing their fee could weaken their negotiating power elsewhere, which wouldn’t be fair to them.

Who profits from putting on Pride Cymru? Is this a money making exercise? How much do you directors get?

Pride Cymru has always been a not-for-profit charity, run by a dedicated team of volunteers from all over Wales. Our Core Team and trustees don’t get paid a thing (yep, really!). They all volunteer their time, energy, and passion to help make Pride Cymru something Wales can be proud of. Any surplus we make when we’ve settled all the bills, goes straight back into making next year better or helping a community group.

We do have a tiny but mighty paid team, led by a part-time Charity Manager, who keeps everything running behind the scenes. That includes all the fun (and not-so-fun) stuff like VAT returns, fire alarm checks, funding applications, and most excitingly that our community projects run smoothly all year round.

So when you buy a ticket or drop us a donation, you’re not lining anyone’s pockets, you’re helping us cover the costs of putting on the event, keeping it safe and accessible, and supporting LGBTQ+ people across Wales 365 days a year.

Why don’t you have a community advisory board to make decisions about various aspects of Pride?

Pride is organised by a big group of wonderful people from the LGBTQ+ community. The ‘Core Team’ acts as our community advisory body. It is made up of over 30 people from across the LGBTQ+ community, bringing a wide range of lived experience, skills, and perspectives.

The Core Team helps shape decisions across Pride, including accessibility, community spaces, programming, partnerships, and operations. This means community voices are embedded directly into decision-making rather than sitting alongside it.

We’re always keen for more people from the LGBTQ+ community to get involved, and regularly welcome new members to the Core Team to help ensure Pride Cymru remains accountable, inclusive, and community-led. We are always open to feedback: drop us a line on hello@pridecymru.com

Why isn’t your board of trustees elected?

Pride Cymru is a registered charity. Our trustees are appointed through a recruitment process in line with UK charity law. This ensures we have a board with the right mix of skills, experience, and accountability to manage the charity responsibly.

Our current board is made up entirely of LGBTQ+ people from across Wales, representing a range of backgrounds and lived experiences.

We’re reviewing how we can make leadership pathways more open and reflective of the wider community, including clearer routes for volunteers and community members to get involved in governance.

Is Pride Cymru’s team truly representative of Wales’ LGBTQ+ community?

We’re proud to have a diverse team and are continuing to make it even more representative. We actively recruit volunteers, staff, and board members from across Wales’ LGBTQ+ communities, including trans, intersex, disabled, Welsh-speaking people, and people of colour. Diversity in decision-making makes Pride stronger and fairer.

Based on our most recent internal survey, 1 in 3 team members told us they have a disability, and 1 in 4 identify as transgender or non-binary. We’re proud of the diversity within our team, and we’re also aware there’s more to do. We’re actively working to increase representation, especially from QTIPOC (queer, trans, intersex people of colour) and other underrepresented communities.

Do I have to live in Cardiff to be a volunteer?

No! Our Core Team meetings are held online, making it possible for people from across Wales and beyond to take part. As long as you can commit to the role and be on-site for the event itself, you’re very welcome to get involved. We never want location to be a barrier to getting involved with Pride Cymru.

Who makes up Pride Cymru’s volunteer base?

Our volunteers are the heart of Pride Cymru, and we want our Core Team to truly reflect the community we serve. Our Core Team is made up of over 30 volunteers from across Wales and beyond, each leading key areas of the event. We are committed to building a team that represents a wide range of identities, backgrounds and lived experiences.

What is the benefit of being a volunteer?

There are so many! Volunteering at Pride is a great way to give back to the LGBTQ+ community while having a fun, rewarding experience. You’ll meet new people, make friends, and be part of a welcoming team that helps bring the festival to life.

It’s also a brilliant chance to build your confidence and learn new skills in areas like events, customer service, accessibility and more, all of which look great on your CV.

When will set times be released?

Timings will be released closer to the event. We share stage timings in blocks, such as early afternoon or evening sets, rather than exact individual performance times. This helps us manage any changes that may happen on the day and ensures the information we share is as accurate as possible. Keep an eye on our socials for the latest updates.

I bought a ticket to see a specific act who is no longer performing, can I get a refund?

Line-ups are subject to change, and while we always aim to deliver the advertised programme, artists may occasionally cancel due to circumstances outside of our control.

As Pride Cymru is a full event experience rather than a single-artist concert, tickets are non-refundable in the event of line-up changes.

We work hard to ensure a strong and diverse programme across the weekend, and any changes will be communicated as soon as possible.

How do you ensure diverse representation among performers and hosts?

We are committed to showcasing talent from across Wales’ LGBTQ+ spectrum, including LGBTQ+ artists of colour, trans and non-binary performers, disabled performers, and Welsh language acts. Why do you have a Youth Area?

Our Youth Area exists because young LGBTQ+ people deserve space at Pride that’s designed with them in mind.

For many young people, Pride might be one of the first times they see a visible, joyful LGBTQ+ community. Having a dedicated youth space creates somewhere that feels safe, age-appropriate and supportive, especially for those who may still be figuring things out or who aren’t fully “out” yet.

What do you offer for young people?

Pride Cymru is all about creating a safe, welcoming, and fun space, including for LGBTQ+ young people. We have a whole range of activities designed just for you, so you can celebrate, connect, and express yourself!

We have a dedicated Youth Area specifically for young people. It’s a vibrant, alcohol-free zone where you can meet new people, hang out with friends, and take a moment to chill and recharge. The Youth Stage will feature live performances, music, open-mic opportunities, and interactive sessions, giving you the chance to enjoy, participate, and even show off your own talents. In the past we’ve had circus skills workshops, t-shirt printing and the popular silent disco!

For 2026, young people aged 15 and under can attend Pride Cymru for FREE (when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult).

Why do you have a Family Area?

Pride is about celebrating and supporting the whole LGBTQ+ community, and that absolutely includes LGBTQ+ parents, carers, young people and families. Many LGBTQ+ people have children. Many young people attend Pride with their families. Our family area simply creates a dedicated space that’s age-appropriate, welcoming and comfortable for them.

It also reflects something important: LGBTQ+ people are part of everyday family life. Having a family area sends a clear message that queer families exist, belong and deserve to celebrate safely and visibly.

What do you offer for children and families?

Our Family Area is packed with fun, age-appropriate activities that let children explore Pride in playful and meaningful ways. We’re excited to welcome back favourites including Techniquest, Scouts Cymru, and The OverTheres, offering everything from hands-on science activities and crafting to archery and puppetry. This year, under-15s go free, making it easier for more young people to be part of Pride and enjoy the celebrations together.

There’s something for everyone to enjoy, making Pride Cymru a fun and memorable experience for the whole family.

Can I leave and come back in on the same ticket?

There’s no general re-entry during Pride to help us monitor the number of people on site at any one time. Our event can get very busy, particularly on the Saturday, and this helps keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone. This approach also ensures we comply with the terms of our event licence agreed with Cardiff Council.

We understand that some people can’t stay all day, so Access Ticket holders are able to re-enter if needed. Access Tickets can be bought online. After you get one, a friendly member of our Access Team will get in touch to see how they can best support you so you can enjoy the weekend to the fullest.

What happens if I get caught trying to bring alcohol/drugs in?

Bringing in alcohol and illegal drugs is 100% prohibited. Your bags will be searched on entry and any alcohol found will be confiscated. There will be bars on site where you can purchase drinks, but please drink responsibly. Anyone found with illegal substances will be refused entry with no refund.

Pride Cymru is a safe space, and we ask everyone to be considerate of all attendees.

We operate a Challenge 25 policy, and any under-18s found to be consuming alcohol may be removed from the site.

What cannot be brought into the event?

The following items are prohibited and CANNOT be brought into the event.

Explosives, Signalling Devices, Smoking Devices

Is there a limit to bag size I can bring with me?

We strongly recommend you pack as light as you can. Your bag will be searched before you come in so the smaller the bag, the quicker you’ll get into the event. All bags will be tagged by security once searched. No suitcases or large holdalls please.

Can I bring my own food and drink with me?

You can bring non-alcoholic drinks in, but only in sealed, plastic containers of 500ml or less.

No hot food or large picnic hampers. Any exception to this needed for dietary requirements can be discussed in advance with our access team – access@pridecymru.com.

None of the following items are allowed to be brought into the event:

Alcohol
Sharp objects (including knives, cutlery etc)
Glass bottles (including perfume)
Cans
Barbecues

Your bags will be checked as you enter and prohibited items will be confiscated. This list is not exhaustive, a full list of prohibited items will be displayed on entry gates.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are permitted at Pride Cymru 2026, however, we strongly recommend that you leave your four-legged friends at home as there will be loud noises and large crowds, which may scare animals. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times, and please clean up immediately if your dog fouls. Bins are located around the site. If your dog is causing a nuisance or is a threat to other visitors, you will be asked to leave.

Dogs will not be permitted into the Family Area (unless required for accessibility reasons) and only one dog is permitted per person.

Can I bring my service/support animal?

Yes you can bring your support animal, there will be water points at the Access Hub and the viewing platform. Please consider weather conditions and the well-being of your animal as the event will be loud and crowded, and may be hot depending on the weather.

Is there a quiet area?

There is a space within the Access Hub that will have seating and a selection of fidgets, noise cancelling headphones and activities for if you need to decompress or get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit. As an access customer you are able to leave the event site and return when you want/need to with a valid access wristband. Due to the nature/location of the event we will not be able to control the sound level, however we will endeavour to create a calm and relaxing environment.

Will there be BSL available?

Yes, the Principality Building Society Main Stage, Community Stage and Cabaret Stage will have BSL support over both days. There will be BSL support at the gateline during peak times and BSL assistance is available on request throughout the weekend. A member of the BSL team will walk the parade in the access area. If you require BSL assistance, please contact a volunteer who will radio for a BSL interpreter to assist as soon as possible.

Will there be accessible toilets or changing places toilet?

Yes, there will be accessible portaloos around the site and also a mobile changing places unit will be with us both days.

How will the volunteers, staff and security know I am an access customer?

You will be recognised as an access customer by the wristband you will be given at either the gateline or Access Hub. Lots of people will be wearing wristbands so you will not look different or stick out.

Can I leave to take medication and/or address my dietary needs and re-enter the event?

Yes. As an access customer, you will be permitted to leave the site and re-enter the event if needed to take medication, manage medical requirements, or address dietary needs.

Please remember to collect an access wristband for yourself and any carers, companions, or personal assistants from the Access Hub upon arrival, as these wristbands will allow re-entry to the event.

Failure to provide a valid wristband on re-entry may result in you being required to purchase a new ticket.

Can my friends join me in the access queue?

To keep the access queue moving and limit wait times, we would ask that just you and your carer/companion and/or friend assisting you use the access lane.

I can’t stand for long. Will the queue be long?

As an access customer you will have use of a separate queue lane which will involve minimal waiting. However, during peak times, this lane may also be busy with our access customers. There will be signage and volunteers to guide you to the access lane.

Can I bring medication with me?

If you will need prescribed medication whilst at the event please bring the smallest amount possible and a copy of your repeat prescription if you have one. If, however, you can avoid bringing medication with you we do suggest that as we would not want you to lose it.

Can I bring food and drink with me for my allergies or conditions?

Yes. but please let the security know you are an access customer. Please only bring a small amount, as necessary. Due to security reasons, drinks must be no more than 500ml in a sealed bottle. No cans, alcohol or glass are allowed.

Can I get a carer/PA ticket on the day?

Yes, please bring your evidence of need with you such as your PIP award notice, Hynt card, blue badge or other suitable documentation. Once you have bought your ticket please come to the Access Hub so we can give you your access wristband and tell you about the provisions in place. We do recommend buying your ticket in advance so that we can answer any questions and so that you do not have to carry important documentation with you.

What evidence do I need for a carer/PA ticket?

We understand that everyone’s needs are different and treat each person as an individual. Commonly people will use the first page of their current PIP/DLA award notice, a copy of their blue badge (both sides), or Hynt card/Access card. These are examples and not the only documents accepted. If you do not have any documentation, or have questions please email access@pridecymru.com with information you feel appropriate to express your need for accessible amenities.

How do I get a carers/PA ticket?

Why do you charge for tickets?

Putting on Pride is harder than ever. Across the events industry, costs have risen sharply while funding and sponsorship have become more limited. You’ve probably seen other festivals, even big-name ones, cancelled recently. There’s real pressure on the sector, and we’re not immune to that.

Pride Cymru operates at the scale of other major music and cultural events in the city, but at a significantly lower ticket price. Delivering an event of this size comes with huge responsibilities, approvals, safety planning, infrastructure and year-round work behind the scenes.

Ticket income helps cover essential costs such as staging, sound and lighting, security, medical provision, power, toilets, infrastructure, accessibility measures, staffing, artists and performers, and the delivery of the Parade. These aren’t “extras”, they’re what make Pride Cymru safe, secure and welcoming for everyone. We also work hard to ensure our funding comes from ethical sources and aligns with our values as a community charity.

We constantly review our budgets and work hard to keep costs down wherever we can, but small ticket increases are sometimes necessary to protect the quality and safety of the event and to pay artists and crew fairly.

Pride Cymru is a registered not-for-profit charity. We’re independent and community-led, not owned by a large festival operator. Every ticket sold goes directly back into delivering the festival, supporting the Parade, and investing in the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year.

What is the difference between Pride Saturday and Pride Sunday in 2026? Why is Sunday cheaper?

Saturday is our biggest day of the weekend, with the parade, headline artists, our full main stage line-up, and the widest range of activities and stalls. Sunday has a calmer feel, centred on community performances, family-friendly activities, and a more compact programme. Both days celebrate Pride; they just offer different styles of experience.

This year we’re keeping Sunday more local, shining a spotlight on our community, celebrating grassroots talent, and showcasing the incredible people and organisations that make Pride Cymru what it is. Sunday has a smaller programme and lower production costs than Saturday’s headline day. This means we can offer tickets at a reduced price (just £5!), making Pride more affordable and accessible.

Do you do weekend tickets?

We don’t offer weekend tickets. If you’d like to attend both days, you’ll need to purchase a Saturday ticket and a Sunday ticket separately. Sunday tickets are just £5 this year, making it even easier to join us for the full weekend!

Can I buy a family ticket?

We don’t offer any family tickets. To help make Pride more affordable for families, this year, children aged 15 and under go free! Adults can add up to 2 Children’s tickets each when purchasing a ticket for themselves. Children under 5 can enter without a ticket.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Yes! However, the cost of the ticket on the day will be more and subject to availability, depending on capacity, so we can’t guarantee entry. To save time, money, and to make sure you get in on the day, we recommend buying your tickets in advance at pridecymru.com/tickets/

Do I need to print my ticket?

No, just make sure you have the ticket ready and downloaded on your phone and you’ll be good to go. Feel free to print your tickets if you prefer to have something physical, we’re happy either way! However, printed tickets can be easier for our teams to scan. So, if you have access to a printer, we recommend printing yours so you can get into the event as quickly and smoothly as possible.

How do I apply for a market stall?

Yes, you can apply online by visiting our markets page.

Please note applications will close when all spaces are filled, so get your application in early to secure your spot! Community stall applications for 2026 are now closed.

What date is the Festival?

Pride Cymru 2026 will be on the 13th-14th of June.

Where is Pride Cymru taking place?

Pride Cymru 2026 will be taking place in and around Coopers Field and Cardiff Castle, with a number of amazing attractions suitable for all ages.

Who do you work with the police?

Allowing police staff to take part in Pride is an ongoing conversation within our community. Across the UK, different Prides take different approaches, and we know there are strongly held views on all sides.

It’s also important to note that all large-scale events in the UK are legally required to work with the police as part of their safety and licensing conditions. This includes Pride Cymru. South Wales Police are therefore involved in the event in an operational capacity, regardless of whether their staff march in the parade.

In 2023, following discussions with our volunteers, members of the local LGBTQ+ community, UK and European Pride networks, and the police, Pride Cymru decided to allow the LGBTQ+ Police Staff Network to march under specific conditions:

No uniforms
No police-branded banners
Participation led only by their LGBTQ+ staff

This decision is reviewed regularly by our Trustees, in the same way we review all requests from organisations that wish to take part in the parade.

We understand and respect that not everyone will agree. Pride Cymru recognises that policing has caused harm to LGBTQ+ people in the past and that trust must be earned. We will continue to speak out when we believe the police have got things wrong and need to make amends.

At the same time, we believe that constructive engagement with institutions creates space for accountability, dialogue, and positive change from within.
